APG|SGA launches new digital and analogue Out of Home advertising offering for the greater Geneva region on “Léman Express”
APG|SGA is significantly expanding its exclusive analogue and digital advertising space offering in the greater Geneva region at five new Léman Express stations. The high-footfall locations are all on the longest transborder commuter rail network in Europe, which connects the Swiss city of Geneva
with Annemasse in France, and carries 50,000 passengers every day.
In January 2020, APG|SGA will be launching an enhanced offering at the five new stations. 50 analogue panels, most of which will be backlit, will blend elegantly into the new stations designed by renowned architect Jean Nouvel. In addition, the number of screens will be increased by seven Rail ePanels and four Rail eBoards. The retail precinct at Eaux-Vives station near Geneva has been completely digitalized. In addition, new analogue indoor advertising formats are available in the 23 new Léman Express trains. As a result, APG|SGA is able to offer an exclusive opportunity to reach all public transport users in the Geneva conurbation, with its one million-plus catchment area, throughout their customer journey directly and using a variety of advertising formats (including mobile media and promotions). In total, APG|SGA provides 3,200 digital and analogue panels for advertisers in Geneva, an offering that extends beyond public transport and gives access to the entire population.
Léman Express – a landmark in the evolution of public transport:
The number of cross-border commuters travelling between France and Switzerland has been on the rise for decades. Demand for mobility has risen in parallel with this growth. After eight years in construction and an investment in excess of 1.5 billion francs, SBB inaugurated the new Léman Express service on 15 December 2019. The new Cornavin–Eaux-Vives–Annemasse (CEVA) route underscores the trend in cross-border mobility. It is now possible to travel to Geneva from Annemasse by train in just twenty minutes. 45 new stations have been built in populous residential areas close to the commercial areas along the 230-km route. The 50,000 people who travel daily are creating a completely new volume of traffic in Switzerland. There is also a 24-hour weekend service for night owls.
Brian Jost, Key Partner SBB, lead-managed the project for APG|SGA, and was in charge of planning and design, while Oliver Weber (Head of Logistics Services) was responsible for construction and implementation. Kilchenmann AG acted as technology partner and was responsible for realization in Geneva Eaux-Vives.
