APG implements new bus shelters with St. Gallen transport authority (VBSG)
Together with St. Gallen transport authority (VBSG), APG has implemented the prototype of a new generation of bus shelters. The main difference between the new shelters and their predecessors is the new lateral canopy. Another 19 shelters should be built in 2011 and are being financed by APG – to the benefit of taxpayers.
On 17 November, Switzerland's leading outdoor advertising company APG presented a prototype for a new bus shelter to the public together with its long-standing partner, VBSG (St. Gallen transport authority). But that's not all – plans are in place to build a further 19 shelters in 2011; planning applications are currently being examined by the authorities.
APG is investing in the shelters and will make a substantial contribution to maintaining them during the amortization period. This is to the benefit of taxpayers, as they will not be footing the bill. In return, the outdoor advertising company will be able to place advertisements in the light boxes that are mounted on the modern shelters. "The proceeds will serve to offset the costs of our investment," says Patrik Denzler, APG Regional Head. Following the amortization period, APG will share the advertising proceeds with the transport authority.
