New APG pricing system: High market acceptance, preparations for integration of SPR+ railway station

March 4, 2009

The new pricing system introduced this year by APG, the number one in Swiss out-of-home advertising, has been received very favorably by the market players – media agencies, clients, and the Association of Swiss Advertisers. Transparency and reproducibility are paying off. The new APG pricing system is fully based on the SPR+ research concept, which means that all rates are consistently calculated on the basis of the contacts generated by the individual panels. The results of the special SPR+ study for Switzerland’s 27 largest railway stations are expected to be available in the course of this year. As soon as the contact ratings have been integrated into the SPR+ Expert planning software, APG will extend the new pricing system to these stations. In a next stage, the remaining railway stations as well as the shopping centers and parking facilities will also be analyzed by the special study.

New edition of the APG pocket guide
Completely new and more user-friendly than ever: the updated edition of the practical and popular APG pocket guide is now available. Entitled APG Posters: Target areas, products, and prices 2009–2, the pocket guide offers media planners, agency clients, and other interested parties the customary overview of all APG poster networks, the APG product portfolio, data on poster research, an intermedia comparison, production hints, and other pertinent information on the poster medium. The booklet can be ordered free of charge from APG or downloaded as a PDF file from www.apg.ch/publications where other informational material is also available.

2009–2 in brief

  • Posting rates remain unchanged. Based on our initial hands-on experience, merely a few networks and panels will be subject to minor optimizations and refinements.
  • As at March 1, 2009, the F24 large format portfolio comprised about 1,100 units. In the interest of optimized bookability and plannability, all F24 networks were dissolved for the entire budget year 2009.
  • Affichage InterMediaMap, the new online visualization tool based on Google Maps, has been running successfully at APG since November 17, 2008.
All innovations and key data are conveniently summarized in Poster News 2009–2, also available for download as a PDF file from www.apg.ch/publications.
